Good News from ZAAPTV !!

As everyone by now knows, ZAAPTV has been acting up lately, dropped channels, channels disappearing and reappearing, ones that completely vanished, and many other problems, that made us all quite upset about the service.

But like they say good news awaits those who wait ;)

I received an email from ZAAPTV themselves, I was quite shocked to be honest with you, and in that communique they delivered to me some good and optimistic news. They did indeed run into problems with the increase in demand of their product, and they are very well aware of the problems people are facing, and working very diligently to restore these channels back. In the meantime they were able to add a few new channels ( I can vouch for that..) to compensate for those that disappeared, and inshallah they are hoping to get everything settled before Ramadan.

I know, I know.. Ramadan?! That's almost four months away !!

We have all been waiting too long for these fixes, and this was not the time frame everyone wanted to hear, but to be fair, it's quite overwhelming what they are working on, and finally we got an answer directly from ZAAPTV.

So if you are loosing channels or channels are acting up, please hold on emailing them and flooding their inbox's, unless you have a legitimate issue with your POD.

Let me know what you think, and if you have any problems let us know maybe I and other users on this blog might be able to help.

Salam.

  2. Masrawy, do you know if ZaapTv are planning to add premium channels like Al-jazeera sport+ for a fee. This premium channels will be extra to the one we already get?

    Thank you for you work.

    1. Anon,

Thanks for the question. Honestly I do not know.

That's an excellent idea Anon, maybe in the future they would be able to add such a service.

  3. Masrawy, there is a competitor of Zaaptv called ATN arab networ where they receive all channels by a sattellite and broadcast to customers via internet, you need to pay for annual subscription though..so what is better, getting atn or zaaptv which relies on available channels on internet?
i am currently on the comparison stage before deciding for one.
    thanks

    1. Anon,

That's an excellent question. I have indeed heard of ATN. Problem is it only works for countries other than the US, Canada, Australia and Brazil.

Anyways, before you decide, there are a few questions you need to ask yourself. Questions such as the integrity of the company, how many years have they been in business. Customer Service and how fast they respond to trouble tickets. Other questions, do they have all the channels you want to watch? how good is the video quality? Do they have true HD video or not? Do you care for HD ? How much yearly will you pay? If the channels you need are not available on ZAAPTV, such as ART's then I guess you have only one choice ! Can you live without these channels?

How is it connected to the internet, wired or wifi, do you even care? Ask the company you are buying from a few questions and see how and how fast it takes them to respond, talk to them over the phone. I called mine and emailed them several times asking different questions until I was convinced they are a decent company.

Learn as much as you can Anon, and be an informed customer. Here on this blog you can see what people are saying about ZAAPTV specifically and IPTV in general.

Post questions if you have any and bloggers on here and I will do our best to try to answer your questions.

      Salam

    1. Another point, anyone know how to extract the streaming links for our missing channels , so we can add them to the zaaptv channels.I tried a lot of software & a lot of copy &paste ..but so far nothing worked.I guess we can find some experienced guys here who can extend their experience to the others. If I know the get the technique of doing that I hope I will add a lot of channels to our zaap tv.

    2. Belal,

It's weird you mentioned that. I indeed did notice the service getting interrupted for a few seconds then coming back again. It was never like that. It's like the pipelines are clogged up ...lol.

I am pretty sure my internet connection is not to be blamed.

Oh, well let's try and live with it until they are done with their updates. Beats having D15hn3tw0rk ;)

  6. Hello First This is a great blog for people who don't know about Zaap. Thank you Masrawy.

I was wondering can I get by with buying one ZAAPTV HD209N receiver that I can watch on two different T.V.'s? I was thinking it was possible maybe to buy one and broadcast from that one using Wireless USB "N" to connect for the other T.V. or would I have to buy 2 ZAAPTV HD209N receivers one for each tv.

    Thanks for the help!

  12. Anon,

I am just the messenger here, I was told it will be done by the beginning of Ramadan. If they don't, what am I supposed to do about it?

They did have issues in the beginning of Ramadan, but a lot of the channels are working now without any problems.
