Sorry for the delay, i had finals and was not able to go online much. Anyways, I tested the wmv format and its not a format supported by ZAAPTV. Anyways I am going to outline for you how to add any video with a supported format to your ZAAPTV.
1- You need to have a ZAAPTV account. Goto "http://myzaaptv.zaaptv.de/" and set up your account.
2- After you log in, on the right you should see 4 orange buttons. One of them reads "Add New Channel" click on it.
3- Select the category where you want the channel to appear in. Paste the URL you have. Give the channel a name. Select the Country if you want. Add a description if you want. And finally select who can see that channel.
Salam I've tried to add channels but i couldn't... there is a saudi channel called (( line sport ))...it's live on their website (( www.linesport.tv )). but i can't the URL for the stream. it's a flash player stream.
Finally, do you have an idea if Zaaptv will add channels like ART, Orbit like ATN.
I have not had a chance to test adding a channel using Flash sorry. But my guess it should work, since you can search YouTube and play those files without a problem, I think the trick is finding the URL for the streaming video, that's the hard part.
As for adding channels such as ART and Orbit, I hope they add them. But since those channels are by subscription, my guess is we have to pay for it.
Sorry, I don't know how to backup the favorites channels to be copied over to another ZAAP device.
To tell you the truth ,i believe 100% that streaming from your pc much better than ZAAPTV box ,all of it its headache,tech support not good even at it ,i recommend every one not to buy ,if you still have time better to return it Good luck all Alshami

I think they are using both some is from other sites while others are directly from them. I have searched endlessly trying to find the links they use or the actual channel's website where they stream online, but to no avail. Some channels don't have streams online and I am getting them in very good quality!
So its very hard to find out what they are doing. But once a while a channel would breakdown and I will find another company's logo shown. Maybe they have a contract together to air each others channels ( a lot of companies do that, even if competitors).

Finding the URL for online streaming channels is an art. You have to know how to look through source code, get software to help you identify the originating stream URL, use browser plugins or Addons (talking about Firefox browser).
There are just many options out there. I just don't have time to do all that. If anyone knows how to track the originating URL for any stream with any software or browser plug-in please share so everyone benefits.

Its shame of Zaaptv tech support not to answer and support our problems. We have to ask each other for support. It seem to me that this is a fake company . I think we should report it to BBB or to the national consumer dept. Do you agree with me Mr. Masrawy?
It's not a fake company. It could be a small company and they are overwhelmed with email requests. I imagine they get tens if not hundreds of emails a day, and they have to sift through them to sort them by importance and urgency. I think there are only two guys working in support Nick and Alex, I might be wrong.
I do agree that their support is not the greatest and needs to improve, like someone suggested add at least a forum. ( hmm.. maybe I can work on creating a support forum in my free time), but anyways, that's the whole idea behind this blog is to help others as much as we could.
So reporting them in my opinion will not benefit us that much. If they are maxed out, they are maxed out,no one can force them to get new employees or spend more money for support. Especially that they do answer emails sent to them, I and others can vouch for that even though it's not right away.

hi if u want to look for url...then download url snooper...its free..do a google search on it and you will know how to use it...you can add any channel you wish to your box..all u have to do is copy and paste...i am doing it.. love

I guess only WMV format works well with zaaptv, the one I added last night was in .swf if I recall correctly.

I bought Zaap tv last month and now it won't start. I turned it on this morning, it showed me the ZAAP Logo then moved to the loading screen turned to black then rebooted itself over and over. I cannot see the menu.
- Powered it on - I see ZAAP logo - Loading screen - Black screen - it reboots itself (over and over)

From Bahieg: It is easy to get url for streaming, that works fantastic on the pc. but the problem is that neither Zaap tv nor Planet tv accepted because because the were not in wmv format. I believe that these company should update their softwares to accept other common url formate.

And there's no way to access these channels but through ZaapTV which accesses the server(s) that hosts these streams.
